There is a common misconception that Sudden Cardiac Arrest only happens to older or unhealthy people. The sad truth is that Sudden Cardiac Arrest doesn’t discriminate and it can happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime.
FAAE are here to support the Football Queensland community and to help save lives. Clubs across the state have used our defibrillators to save lives.
During a training session at a Brisbane Soccer Club, a coach recognised a young 15 year old had collapsed and stopped breathing. It all happened so quickly, with club members jumping into action calling emergency services and starting CPR. The club president accessed our defibrillator and attached it to the young man’s chest. After 3 shocks, the young man started breathing and was rushed to hospital. Thanks to the quick thinking of the club members, basic CPR training and access to our defibrillator, the young man survived a sudden cardiac arrest.
