Not just First Aid courses, we get our hands dirty!

At First Aid Accident and Emergency we take pride in practising what we preach.  Not only are all of our Gold Coast First Aid Instructors qualified in training First Aid, but we like to put our knowledge into practice and offer first aid services at local sporting events.

This participation on the side lines is an extremely important aspect to our organisation as it keeps our skills fresh and also assists in keeping our first aid training courses relevant and up-to-date by getting ‘out there’ and experiencing first hand on how first aid is needed and being applied in the Gold Coast community.
Earlier this month we provided first aid facilities for the Nerang Trail Series which is a monthly event hosting 6 kilometre and 17kilometre trail runs or walks.  The event is growing in size every month and as we see at the first aid station, no matter how experienced the competitor, things do happen!

The importance of applying first aid to real life incidents is keeping our trainers in the loop with new forms of injuries as well as different health and medical conditions.
Anyone who has had to administer first aid, whether as a professional or as bystander, will understand that every situation and environment is different when it comes to accidents and injuries.  This is why it is essential for our trainers to have ongoing and ‘on-the-job’ training in real life situations which ultimately results in knowledge being passed down to our first aid course attendees.
First Aid Accident and Emergency is also a proud sponsor in the annual Kokoda Challenge which is a very relevant event for our Director, Scott Whimpey who competes in the Challenge every year. Scott’s knowledge of the conditions, emotional and physical strain gives our team an extra advantage in treating first aid cases throughout the gruelling event.
Along with these events First Aid Accident and Emergency is responsible for facilitating first aid stations at several other events around South East Queensland.
