Low voltage rescue training on the Gold Coast – who needs it and why

Tradies learning how to perform Low Voltage Rescue in a First Aid Training Course

Electrical work is high-risk, and accidents can happen quickly and without warning. Low-voltage rescue (LVR) training gives you the skills to step in when it matters and possibly help someone who’s in a difficult situation.

At First Aid Accident & Emergency (FAAE), we run the Gold Coast’s most trusted low voltage rescue courses, with 17+ years of experience and more than 2000 5-star reviews. Our training runs weekly, and we issue same-day certification, making it easy and convenient to stay compliant.

What is low-voltage rescue training?

Low-voltage rescue training is a requirement for electrical workers in QLD and teaches you how to safely rescue someone who has come into contact with live electrical equipment. FAAE’s LVR training covers:

  • UETDRMP018 Perform Rescue from a live Low Voltage Panel
  • HLTAID009 CPR

These courses teach you how to risk assess a job, isolate power, use an LVR kit, rescue a patient safely and perform CPR. All training is delivered face-to-face by our local medical trainers, with no tedious online modules required. It’s practical, hands-on training to help you respond to someone who is electrocuted, trapped or injured around a live switchboard.

Who needs low-voltage rescue training?

So, who will LVR training benefit? As this is a required certificate in QLD for all electrical workers, the course is designed to help anyone working on or near energised circuits, including electricians, spotters and trade assistants. It is required under the Electrical Safety Act and legally must be refreshed every 12 months.

The real benefits of LVR training

LVR training teaches you how to respond fast after an electrical accident. The skills you learn are life-saving, isolating the power, pulling someone to safety and doing CPR. This type of first aid training is practical, it’s not just reading a manual. Most importantly, it keeps you compliant.
