Express CPR Course: 1.5 hours plus 1 hour pre-course online learning
This course combines self-paced online learning and assessment completed prior to attending a short face-to-face session of 1.5 hours. The face to face delivery incorporates progressive scenario-based activities and a range of practical assessments.

The online learning and assessment is made up of videos and multiple choice questions. To complete the online learning participants will need a desktop, laptop, tablet or phone with internet connection and headphones or speakers. Learners generally complete the online component in approximately 1 hour.

Standard CPR Course: 2.5 hours
This course is delivered face to face, no online learning required. Duration time is 2.5 hours. The range of assessments conducted in the standard course are written, practical and scenario-based assessments.

CPR Course: $50.00 per person.

Course fee includes all learning materials, CPR face mask and A4 electronic Statement of Attainment.

Student/Concession Fee: $45.00 per person.

  • Varsity Lakes Sports House – 337 Christine Avenue, Varsity Lakes Q 4227
  • Coomera Training Centre – 1/21 Dreamworld Parkway, Coomera Q 4209

Participants must be 14 years or older. Participants under the age of 18 are required to provide a consent form completed by their legal guardian which can be accessed by clicking here.

There are no pre-requisites for this course however participants need to meet the minimum physical and LLN requirements.

The HLTAID competency standards require a level of physical ability to provide first aid and respond to an emergency situation where there may be risk to life. Students are required to:

  • Perform 2 minutes of CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor
  • Perform 2 minutes of CPR on an infant manikin placed on the floor
  • Place a patient into the recovery position

Due to the potential risk to health and safety where a nominated first aider, or worker with a duty of care, does not have the ability to perform resuscitation and/or first aid to the performance standard, it is not appropriate to issue a statement of attainment to students who are physically unable to meet the assessment requirements. FAAE are unable to make adjustments to these requirements even if the qualification is a necessary part of the learner’s employment conditions.

If you feel you will be unable to meet the physical requirements, please contact the office prior to training on 07 5520 5068 to discuss the options available to you.

Participants will require sufficient LLN skills to successfully complete the course. These skills/tasks are:

  • Basic reading and writing skills in English
  • Ability to listen and understand verbal communication in English
  • Ability to count to 30, calculate basic ratios, use a timer and tell the time
  • Read and answer multiple choice questions in English
  • Fill in an accurate incident report form

Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency:

  • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

In most cases a Statement of Attainment in the form of an A4 electronic pdf will be emailed on the day of training based on the following:

  • Successful completion of the required assessments
  • Verification of a valid USI
  • Course fees are paid in full

Where your training falls outside of normal business hours your Statement of Attainment will be emailed the next business day.

Provide CPR is valid for 12 months from date of issue.

CPR is recommended to be renewed every 12 months as per the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
