How long does it take to complete a first aid course on the Gold Coast?
The length of our First Aid course depends on the type of training you decide to do.
Our Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) is: Standard Face to face 7.5 hrs with additional learning if required (includes CPR training)
- Our Express Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) is 3.5 hrs Face to face with online learning, this cuts the face to face time and is a popular option.
CPR Only (HLTAID009) – Around 2.5 hours
Childcare First Aid (HLTAID012) – is 8.5 hours.
We offer Express courses in all First aid qualifications and this is called a blended learning option, where you complete online coursework beforehand and spend less time in the classroom.
What is the duration of a Low Voltage Rescue and CPR course?
The duration of a Low Voltage Rescue and CPR course is three (3) hours.
What is the difference between the Standard First Aid Course and the Express First Aid Course?
The Standard First Aid Course runs as a 7.5-hour face-to-face session, combining both practical and theoretical learning and assessment. Unlike other formats, this course does not include any online components, allowing students to complete everything in person on the day.
Alternatively, the Express First Aid Course offers a blended option, combining pre-course online learning and assessment with a 3.5-hour face-to-face session.
To participate, students must complete the online assessment prior to attending the in-person component, ensuring they are fully prepared for the practical training.

How long is a first aid certificate vaild for in Australia?
First Aid Certificates:
Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) – Valid for 3 years from the date of issue.
CPR (HLTAID009) – Valid for 12 months, with annual renewal recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council.
First Aid for Education & Care (HLTAID012) – Valid for 3 years from the issue date.
Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) – Includes CPR and must be renewed every 12 months as per the Electrical Safety Act 2002.
Advanced Resuscitation (HLTAID015) – Valid for 12 months, with yearly renewal recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council.
To reiterate, a first certificate course achieved with FAAE is valid for a minimum of 12 months, up to 3 years depending on which course you undertake.
