How long is a first aid course on the Gold Coast?
The length of our First Aid course depends on the type of training you decide to do.
Our Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) is: Standard Face to face 7.5 hrs with additional learning if required (includes CPR training)
- Our Express Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) is 3.5 hrs Face to face with online learning, this cuts the face to face time and is a popular option.
CPR Only (HLTAID009) – Around 2.5 hours
Childcare First Aid (HLTAID012) – is 8.5 hours.
We offer Express courses in all First aid qualifications and this is called a blended learning option, where you complete online coursework beforehand and spend less time in the classroom.
What is the duration of a Low Voltage Rescue and CPR course?
The duration of a Low Voltage Rescue and CPR course is three (3) hours
What is the difference between the Standard First Aid Course and the Express First Aid Course?
The Standard First Aid Course runs for 7.5 hours as a face-to-face session, incorporating practical and theoretical learning and assessment. There is no online component. The Express First Aid Course combines pre-course online learning and assessment with a 3.5-hour face-to-face session. Students need to complete the online assessment before attending the face-to-face component.

How long does a first aid certificate last for in Australia?
Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) – Valid for 3 years from the date of issue.
CPR (HLTAID009) – Valid for 12 months, with annual renewal recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council.
First Aid for Education & Care (HLTAID012) – Valid for 3 years from the issue date.
Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) – Includes CPR and must be renewed every 12 months as per the Electrical Safety Act 2002.
Advanced Resuscitation (HLTAID015) – Valid for 12 months, with yearly renewal recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council.
